My overall experience in this Art Network I class this semester was good, interesting, and challenging. However, I wish I accomplished more or did better on certain projects. Although, since I made some mistakes, I learned from them. The ones I was more interested in and would love to revise are the class project, What Art Network is, the interviewing one, and the mini documentary.
With the first project where we demonstrate "what Art Network is" by collaborating ideas, using visuals, acting, etc. During post production the audio was too loud to the point where it was hard to hear the actress speaking. I realized I need to work on adjusting audio.
For the personal interview project where I worked with Matthew Dalton, we both made a mistake when we were asking each other questions, he and I looked away from the camera rather than look into or towards the camera. I learned that is not the correct way to do it.
When it came to compositing the mini documentary, I learned more about interviewing, collecting sound bites, filming and post production. With the help of Andres and Marquee, I learned more about Premiere Pro with some audio and video transitions.
I know due to Irma, a lot was taken away from us mentally, emotionally, and stability wise. However, I am thankful no one got hurt and we did not have to recover from too much damage. I believe with the two weeks taken out of school, our class could have had more time to revise certain projects that the students are passionate about.
Looking back from this whole experience, I have made certain mistakes that have helped me learn what not to do. I am considering going back and refining certain pieces to add to my portfolio. I am really looking forward to next semester where we produce a documentary with ABC news 7! I cannot wait to see what comes out of it! I will also be wrapping up my thesis with Buddy Cruise as well. I have learned certain aspects from this class I plan on applying to it.
Cheers!
